How to Keep Intruders Out of Your Home

Jun 5, 2023

Don’t you agree that keeping our home safe while we are away is one of our biggest concerns? Owning a second home just complicates it even more – as a holiday home will usually be a burglar’s target.

How can you keep intruders away when you are not home, whether that means you are abroad or just went out for some errands?

Are there any effective systems you can use? How can you double your home’s security?

Alarm System

You guessed right, alarm systems are one of the easiest ways to keep burglars or intruders away. Most modern alarm systems now have an app that will allow you to ensure it’s active when you leave the house.

There are multiple alarm companies and picking one will greatly depend on what type of security, support, and price you are looking for.

Alarm systems are a great way to protect your property but not the only one.

Access Control Systems

Access control systems allow you to take your home’s security to the next level.

For a long time, intercoms have allowed us to recognize our visitors and control who enters our private property. But did you know that an intercom can now be connected to a whole automatized control system?

Why is this a great option when you are away?

Control access to your property when away

An intruder doesn’t necessarily need to be a burglar. It can be any person you don’t want on your property at a specific time.

Let’s say you want to make sure your cleaning lady is there Mondays and Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm. The control system can be set to have a unique access code for her and only valid on those days during those times. The control system will also send a notification to your phone.

Regarding burglars, you can also change the access code to your property periodically and connect it to your alarm system to make it even harder for them to intrude.

These are just some ways to protect your property, let us know in the comments if you would like us to share more.
